The Yorkton Tribal Council Child & Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic dedicated individuals to fill the position of Family Enhancement Worker based out of the Fort Qu'Appelle sub-office. Workers will provide a holistic approach to the wellness of the child, the family, & the community that is based on the Epistemology of First Nation law, beliefs & practices, the guidance & involvement of Elders & the support of family & community members to prevent further involvement with the child protection system. The Workers will work in partnership with the Family Enhancement Manager & family members to plan, implement & evaluate family enhancement projects & services & assist in identifying strengths & needs for appropriate prevention services to families. Also works to promote strong communities & positive social outcomes in a way that enables communities to continue to deal with issues through their own resilience & capacities.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) OR
Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline & eighteen (18) months experience in a human services field OR Certificate in Social Work with 12 months of direct child protection experience Certificate in human services field would be a definite asset
Experience working in human services field.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Working in conjunction with the community programs & services & YTCCFS Inc., this individual must possess the ability to assess & identify at risk families & the ability to refer & engage the appropriate resources. Ability to work with & support the Child & Family Services Authorities.
Knowledge of the Cree, Nakota, Lakota & Saulteaux Culture & the political & social objectives of the YTCCFS Inc. member First Nations. Must be willing to work evenings & weekends.
Must be able to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
