Description

We are seeking 1 full time & 2 part time personal caregivers to provide personal care and support the daily activities of a vibrant, young adult woman with disabilities who enjoys taking University classes, painting, cooking, attending sport and arts events and sit-skiing.

Those with a background in pre-nursing, Educational Assistance or Home Care are well suited to the positions. Successful team members will work within a loving family environment to to meet physical needs, social needs and support growth towards independence goals. Experience and capacity with lifts, power mobility and track lifts is preferred, with training provided.

Part-time and casual caregivers are welcome to apply as well. Applicants must be willing to travel to/from the Waskesiu area or consider local accommodations which may be available for scheduled shifts or on a permanent basis.

Hours of work: shifts and hours of work to be determined with the successful candidates up to 160  hours per month.

Required/preferred qualifications and experience:

Continuing Care Assistance certificate or related training
Experience with mobility impairment
Safe transfers with lift/track system
Ability to work independently and with a family in a home environment
Ability to take direction
Basic computer skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
Basic light housekeeping required (i.e. laundry, dishes, organization)
Valid drivers license with good driving record
Strong commitment to inclusion and person-centered care
Foodie skills and interests
Driving all seasons and clear driving record
Willingness to travel

Household information:
Non-smoking
Loving and busy family environment
Large and very lovable dog
Overnight accommodations in the home or nearby may be available
