Description

Station 20 West (S20W) provides space and facilitates the provision of services and amenities to enhance the lives of individuals and families in the core communities of Saskatoon. The building serves as a safe space as part of the cold weather/warm weather strategy and is open weekdays 8am to 4pm for public washroom access.

We are seeking a Systems Navigator to assist and support people who are coming to S20W to find these services.  The main goal is to help individuals navigate systems and connect them to community supports and services.

Duties are:
- Act as an ambassador for S20W and interact with visitors and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure that S20W is a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for community members and building staff.
- Provide support services and support systems navigation for community members.
- Provide community referrals and solution focused interventions.
- Carry out S20W policies and procedures by reporting all incidents.
- Monitor the building use and visitor well-being as required.

Skill requirements:
- Some post-secondary education in a human services field
- Have both lived and work experience.
- Knowledge of community resources and how to access them.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong teamwork abilities
- Ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable community members.
- Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
- Good judgement, good decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- be Alert and detail-oriented
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Be dependable and punctual
- First Aid and Naloxone training is desirable.

This position requires (moderate to high) walking around the building as well as going up and down stairs multiple times a day as required.

The successful candidate is required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check at the reference stage of hiring.
