Description

CFS Regina is seeking enthusiastic and fun individuals to join our Youth Mentor Program.

Our Youth Mentor Program is relationship focused, recreational in nature, strengths based, and client centered. Mentorship is tailored to meet the unique and individual needs of youth between the ages of 6-18 who experience isolation, conflict, and instability in their life. Compatible matches are made based on personality and interests. Youth are referred by the Ministry of Social Services and our program serves youth in Regina and surrounding areas.

Mentorship pairs meet one-on-one for 6 hours a week in the evenings and/or on the weekends to explore and engage in fun, educational, and recreational activities that build confidence, self-esteem, self-worth, identity, social skills, life skills, communication skills, coping skills, physical literacy, and more! We do require a minimum of a one-year commitment from our mentors, however we do hope the mentorship relationship lasts beyond the one year.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to be aware of and sensitive to gender expression/identity, sexual orientation, cultural, ethnic, and economic diversity.

Applicants are not required to hold a professional designation. Consideration will be extended to applicants who are inclusive, flexible, energetic, hands-on, and reliable. Previous experience working or volunteering with youth is an asset. Other assets include knowledge of the child welfare system, FASD, ADHD, child development, local community programs/events, and recreational/ leisure activities for youth.

We seek to attract creative, committed and compassionate people who are interested in empowering youth to be the best versions of themselves through connection, relationship building, and fun!
