Description

Summary
As an Activity Coordinator, you will assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents, in collaboration with the Programming Team and the Care Management Team. In alignment with resident care plans, this team is accountable for the assistance/supervision of resident recreational and social activities within The Village and the community. This includes cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects. You will work directly with our residents and patrons to both spearhead daily activities and work with residents on a one-on-one basis.

You will be required to maintain administrative files, including resident tracking and reporting. We encourage teamwork and open communication with our staff and our residents, while maintaining a level of confidentiality.

Your role will include working with all areas of Harbour Landing Village to encourage participation. This position requires shift flexibility, as some events and scheduled activities may take place on evenings or weekends. You will be required to accompany and participate in activities both at Harbour Landing Village, as well as out on excursions.

Strong multi-tasking capabilities;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years of experience with activity planning is an asset;  

Degree or Diploma in the Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or Kinesiology;  Experience in a retirement residence setting is preferred;

A valid provincial driver's license. (Class 1 drivers license an asset);

A valid Standard First Aid (OH&S) Level C Certificate;  

A valid certificate in TLR (Transitioning, Lifting & Repositioning);  

A valid certificate in Food Safety;

Proficient in MS Office.
