This permanent, full-time opportunity is ideal for someone seeking to positively impact the environment, animal wellness, and human health.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and administering all matters related to Occupational Health and Safety, workers compensation, return to work programs and wellness.

Responsibilities:
Planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining Health and Safety programs and policies to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Provide Health & Safety training as needed, including hazard identification and awareness, first aid, accident reporting, etc.
Develop, implement and monitor the organizations safety program and initiatives, including safe work procedures through all phases of commissioning, start-up and normal operation.
Represent the organization on the Joint Health & Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements.
Provide health & safety orientations to new employees, update and train employees, and promote safety and wellness initiatives.
