The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division has a career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to support the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations for SRCs Rare Earth Processing Facility. It will be North Americas first fully integrated, commercial demonstration facility with hydrometallurgy, separation and metal smelting units. The Facility will begin to establish a rare earth element (REE) technology hub in Saskatchewan, forming an industry model for future commercial REE initiatives and supply chain development.
Accountabilities
Design and develop power distribution systems and automation systems for operating rare earth processing plants
Work as part of the team to address electrical, instrumentation and controls needs of various projects
Assist with new and unique plant design to mechanize and automate processing
Qualifications
Electrical engineering degree with registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Minimum 5 years of experience
Previous experience in heavy industry, processing or mining
Hands-on experience with commissioning and operations a definite asset
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work efficiently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including clients, project teams and contractors
Flexible to shifting priorities, competing project demands and deadlines, while using sound judgement, resourcefulness, initiative and innovation
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
