To restore and/or enhance the mental, emotional and social health and well-being of distressed Community Clinic clients age 5 to 18 years, and their families through individual and family therapy, connection with the school, referrals, advocacy, community action, and program leadership.
Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Social Work or Psychology, or the equivalent in work experience, training and education. Additional education and experience working with children and youth is preferred.
Eligible for registration in a professional association, and eligible for liability insurance to practice counselling/psychotherapy.
Three years experience as a Child, Youth, and Family Therapist preferred. Training in play therapy is an asset.
Experience in program and group planning and leadership.
Significant clinical training and demonstrated ability in a broad range of assessment and treatment skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as an independent practitioner within a multidisciplinary health care team.
Demonstrated ability to use a computer and an electronic medical records system.
Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
Interest and skill in community development an asset.
Knowledge and compatibility with CHSA policy.
Must be bondable.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills and attitude.
