Description

Summary    
As an Activities Coordinator, you will assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of all levels, in collaboration with the General Manager and the Care Management Team. In alignment with resident care plans, this team is accountable for the assistance/supervision of resident recreational and social activities within The Village and the community. Our Village homes residents of all levels which requires the ability to vary in aspects including cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual. You will work directly with our residents and patrons to both spearhead daily activities and work with residents on a one-on-one basis.
You will be required to maintain administrative files, including budget and resident tracking, as well as maintain our volunteer schedule and organize collaboration with various members and organizations of the community. We encourage teamwork and open communication with our staff and our residents, while maintaining a level of confidentiality.  
This position requires shift flexibility, as some events and scheduled activities may take place on evenings or weekends. You will be required to accompany and participate in activities both at Harbour Landing Village, as well as out on excursions where you will assume responsibility for supervising the residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1-2 years of experience with activity planning is an asset;
Degree or Diploma in the Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or Kinesiology;  Experience in a retirement residence setting is preferred;
Experience working with seniors is an asset;
A valid provincial driver's license. (Class 1 drivers license an asset);
A valid Standard First Aid (OH&S) Level C Certificate;
A valid certificate in TLR (Transitioning, Lifting & Repositioning);
A valid certificate in Food Safety;
Proficient in MS Office.
