Description

Be a part of the Grain Millers student legacy for the 2024 field season!
The Summer Field Representative conducts crop tours which includes scouting, monitoring, assessing and providing reports daily to the Procurement Manager. The Summer Field Representative will build strong working relationships with producers, customers, and external partners.  This position requires the intern to be a team player who provides field information and insight to the Procurement Manager, Procurement Merchant, US Procurement Group, Director of Crop Sciences, co-workers, and senior management.

Qualifications:
    Pursuing an Agriculture degree or diploma program focusing on Agronomy, Plant Science or Soil Science, or Agribusiness
    Basic knowledge in field crop agronomy and western Canadian agriculture with an interest in crop development
o    Grain marketing knowledge is considered beneficial but not a requirement.
    Previous crop scouting, farming, or general agriculture experience will be considered an asset.
    Proficient in basic computer skills including - Microsoft Office (Excel, word, and outlook).
    Excellent interpersonal skills along with professional presence to communicate with a diverse customer, colleague, and vendor population on fields, at plants, and customer sites.
    Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.
    Must be able to travel outside of Canada as required.

The standard work week will be Monday through Friday when in office with occasional weekend work as well. During the peak season  flexibility is expected due to event planning, farmer availability and weather-related issues. Grain Millers will compensate for all travel-related expenses
