Poundmaker Cree Nation Child and Family
Poundmaker Cree Nation (PCN) has entered the process of decolonizing family services programs. A board has been established and an Executive Director hired. There are many aspects to consider and develop over the next year. This ad is for the initial positions being hired to work with the Executive Director.
First Nation Representative
The Executive Director will oversee the process of repatriation and placement of the children and youth who return home. The First Nations Representative will work under the guidance of the Executive Director and will support PCN children, youth, young adults, and families involved or at risk of involvement with the child and family services system, on or off-reserve. They will ensure that the rights of PCN children and youth are respected within the child and family services system, ensuring their needs are being met and their voices heard. They will facilitate the repatriation and/or reunification of children and youth in care with their families and PCN, court proceedings, support youth with post-majority services, and other related needed services for our children, youth, and families dealing with social services across Canada. Applicants must have a Degree in a related human services field, related experience with social services in Canada, and experience working with First Nations people.
Knowledge of PCN and First Nations culture and language is a definite asset for all applicants. All successful candidates must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check. If you have a Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check dated within the last three months, you may submit this as well.
