Description

The Material Handler/Forklift Operator is responsible for overseeing the laydown yard. Responsibilities include assisting in developing and maintaining yard layouts, safe offloading/loading trucks, Kitting material for truckloads, fabrication and paint shop and general handling. Responsibilities would also include some equipment maintenance, yard maintenance, solutions to problems that arise.

1 to 3 years of work experience
High school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience.
Well organized and competent in the use of various tools
Capable of following directions and working as part of a team or independently.
Flexible in available work hours and willing to work overtime as may be required.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn.
Drivers license is an asset.
Ability to operate heavy equipment efficiently.
Ability to use technology (Tekla).
Detail orientated.
Ability to piece things together in an effective manner to get the most in the least space.
Willing to work until the tasks are complete for the day (overtime if required.).
Leadership skills are an asset.
Material picker  creating kits of steel to go for fabrication.
Ability to take responsibility
