Position

The Radiation Safety Institute of Canada is seeking a full-time Project Scientist at its National Laboratories in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Position Description

The Project Scientist works with Institute scientists and technical staff on assigned projects related to Institute technical services, supports consulting projects in Health Physics and supports Institute radiation safety training programs and services.

The National Laboratories delivers technical services in Health Physics of which include:

    National Personal Alpha Dosimetry Service
    Instrument testing and calibration Service
    Sealed source leak testing Service
    National Radon Chamber Services
    Radiation measurement Services
    Consulting Services
    Training Services
    Technical services research and development

In the performance of duties, the Project Scientist may work with radioactive sources.

The Institute will provide laboratory safety, radiation safety and workplace training for the successful applicant.

Qualifications and Skills

Graduate degree in Physics or equivalent education and work experience.  

3-5 years experience in Health Physics.

Experience with radiation instrumentation.

Experience with project management.

Experience with quality management systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Detail and quality oriented.

Efficient and able to work independently with little supervision and to meet specified work outcomes and deadlines.

Strong computer skills.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work well with others.

Applicants must provide proof of eligibility to work in Canada.

Compensation

$55,000 - $60,000 /year
