Facility: Youth Services - La Ronge
Job Description: The Mental Health Social Worker will provide client-driven health and social case management assistance to children and youth in the community of La Ronge and those clients attending the La Ronge Health Centre to achieve safe and reasonable goals that will optimize clients' health and wellness and improve their quality of life. The Mental Health Social Worker works in collaboration with clients, their families and community and government agencies, and works closely with the Mental and Addictions teams in La Ronge.

The Mental Health Social Worker also acts as a resource to and supports the development of community and interagency initiatives as they pertain to their mandate.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work is required
- Membership with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
- Possession of a valid driver's licence
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A willingness to build on the strengths of the community and the resiliency of its families
A willingness to continually improve existing programs to meet the specific needs and culture of the community as new issues and trends emerge
Incumbent will demonstrate a commitment to service excellence, and employee and patient safety in the context of quality improvement and risk management
Knowledge of human development and family dynamics relating to family violence, trauma, loss and grief, addiction, and poverty
Knowledge of mental health treatment resources and the skills to make appropriate assessments and referrals
