Gabriel Housing Corporation is an innovative, affordable housing organization that serves Metis families and individuals in the City of Regina. We are seeking a positive, hard-working individual to help us maintain our housing portfolio.
The Maintenance Technician takes direction from and reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Primary duties include but not restricted to the upkeep and general maintenance of rental units within the portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The maintenance worker should have a good working knowledge and ability to perform the following maintenance and repair work:
o General Carpentry
o Interior/ Exterior Finishing
o Painting
o Plumbing/Heating
o Electrical and Electrical Systems
o Major Appliances
o Yard Care/ Landscaping
2. The maintenance worker will be required to:
o have the ability to work under a minimum of supervision
o work overtime, i.e. early morning, late night and weekends
o on a rotating basis, be on-call for 24 hour period by way of carrying a pager or phone.
o provide tools necessary to undertake the required work. (specialty tools will be provided by Gabriel Housing Corporation).
3. The maintenance worker will possess the following skills/abilities:
good public relations skills when dealing with tenants, staff and the public at large
o writing and preparing reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
o be familiar with and capable of using office equipment including computers
CONDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
o Must be bondable
o must have a current drivers license, drivers license must be free of incumbencies that would cost the corporation additional monies to insure driver
o must provide a vehicle suitable for the work, if such a request is necessary
o must be in a good physical condition as required by the work
