Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to the Family Treatment Centre. This includes: health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention, provision of supportive, instructive, treatment services; collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals; conducting needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects. This position will focus on pre and post-natal families, children's and women's general health and women who are struggling with drug and alcohol addictions and clients affected by communicable diseases such as HIV/Hep C. The successful applicant will need to be able to work in a team, successfully promoting collaborative practice with other health professionals in the Mental Health and Addictions and Primary Health Care teams.
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred
Basic Life Support for Care Givers (BLS-HCP)
Registered Nurse - Nurse Practitioner Program
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) as an RN (NP)
Experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong communication and public relations skills
Experience in community needs assessment, community development, and health promotion
Two to Three years experience as a Primary Care Nurse or Nurse Practitioner preferred
Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
Experience or education in treatment of trauma preferred
