Job Description: The Payroll/Benefit Technician is accountable for providing a timely, efficient and accurate Payroll/Benefit service to the staff of the Saskatchewan Health Authority - Prince Albert and Area.

Required Qualifications

Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification from the CPA or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience
Education
-Complete grade 12 plus a certificate in Accounting or classes in the Certified Management Accounting Program or related degree or suitable combination of education and experience. Typing speed of 55cwpm.

Experience
-Minimum of one year recent experience in Payroll and/or Accounting
-Working within a unionized environment & interpreting CBA language is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-Demonstrated proficiency with computers
-Proficiency in Word, Access, Excel, Power point, and a Windows environment is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to acquire and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all Employee Benefits plan provisions and operating procedures, and become a knowledgeable and productive user of various member databases
Computer skills in such programs as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Knowledge of applicable Collective Agreements (SUN, CUPE, HSAS).
