Description

Cumberland House Investment Corporation (CHIC) is the business development corporation for Cumberland House Cree Nation (CHCN). CHIC has operations in Gas bar/retail, hotel, & forestry.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as General Manager for our Gas Station/Retail operations in Cumberland House (Chief Island Community Store) & Nipawin (Par-A-Mart). This position can be based in either location with 50% travel to the other location.

Reporting to the CEO, the GM is responsible for the profitability & effective overall operations of both stores.

Key responsibilities include:
Supervise managers at both locations & manage their performances
Provide coaching to store managers
Study market research & trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes, & effect of competitors operations on sales
Develop/maintain policies & procedures for both locations
Develop safe operating practices & procedures, ensure all team members are trained & adhere to them
Plan budgets & monitor revenues and expenses
Plan, organize, direct, control, & evaluate daily operations in both locations
Oversee payroll
Develop & maintain good relationships with vendors
Ensure accounting processes are clear & transparent
Carry out disciplinary actions when required
Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have:
Completed some post-secondary education in business administration, accompanied by 3 years of experience working as a supervisor or manager. A combination of education & experience may be considered
Proficiency in MS Office Product is required
Experience with or willingness to learn the Chase McKay Program
The preferred candidate will display strong leadership abilities, a positive & ambitious attitude, & demonstrate good interpersonal, communication, & marketing skills
Strong financial & HR management skills are considered an asset
A Clean Criminal Record Check is required
