Description

The Manager, Expenditure and Tax Accounting is accountable to the Director, Financial Operations for the operations of a portfolio that includes Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset Accounting and Indirect Tax Compliance. The Manager, Expenditure and Tax Accounting also coordinates assigned strategic projects that enhance the capabilities of the Financial Services Division.

The Manager, Expenditure and Tax Accounting is responsible for ensuring that Saskatchewan Polytechnics non-payroll expenditures are paid on a timely basis and in accordance with the polytechnics policies. The Manager is responsible for preparing reliable financial information on non-payroll expenditures in a manner that demonstrates the polytechnics commitment to financial stewardship. The Manager will be the indirect tax subject matter expert for the polytechnic and is responsible for ensuring Saskatchewan Polytechnic is in compliance with federal and provincial indirect tax legislation. As a member of the Financial Services team, the Manager, Expenditure and Tax Accounting acts as an internal consultant on new and/or complex financial activities within Saskatchewan Polytechnic and collaborates on the development of finance policies and initiatives to assist the organization in fulfilling its mandate.
