Description

The Saskatoon Housing Authority current has an employment opportunity for a Community Outreach Consultant.  This is a permanent full time position.  The successful candidate must create stability & successful tenancies for at-risk tenants through pre-emptive interventions during challenging tenancies, by effectively identifying needs, coaching, counselling & removing barriers that enable community integration and that foster & maintain independence.

Some Key Responsibilities:
. Identify tenant issues/behaviors that threaten the tenancy.
. Engage appropriate resources to provide preventative supports to increase resilience, life skill development, and to achieve longer-term tenancies.
. facilitate the process for at-risk tenants to engage and participate with service and community providers.
. advocate on behalf of at-risk tenants for access to social & financial assistance programs,
. attend case meetings, hearings & if required, appointments with at-risk tenants.
. guide and support tenants to access available services that will assist in achieving independence and a great sense of well-being.
. support and encourage tenant in life skill development such as home management and budgeting, recognizing that becoming a good tenant is a learned experience.
