Job Overview
The MarCom Assistant role is one with flexibility and autonomy to accomplish a variety of tasks: Assist in data collection and entry, to ensure Downtown Saskatoons member database is current. This database is the primary vehicle to communicate with the approximately 1,000 businesses that make up our district. Other tasks to include visiting member businesses with a variety of information, collateral, surveys, registrations, etc; support the planning and execution of self-generated events and animation; and room for creativity to create/manage ways to get in front of tourists/conference attendees/other audience. Under the direction of the MarCom + Program Director, the candidate for this position will work occasionally from the office, from home, and walking through the Downtown district.

We are the Business Improvement District for Downtown Saskatoon. Our goal is to help amplify the voices within Downtown, elevate the opportunities in the district, and assist in maintaining our districts appearance, both physically and mentally. Downtown Saskatoon operates as a non-profit organization, and we focus on a range of services to enhance and promote the district.
Qualifications
Data entry/manipulation experience within a CRM (Member365), website (Word Press), online forms, and Excel
Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
Ability to multi-task and work independently on assigned tasks
Must have own computer and internet access
Must possess an excellent command of the English language, both written and oral
Familiarity with Downtown Saskatoon considered an asset
Hours of Work
During a 40-hour work week, hours of work will vary, due to the nature of events and coverage required. Some evening and weekend work is expected. Must be available to work potentially extended hours for events such as Downtown Sidewalk Sale (July 11-13, 2024).
