Description

REACH (Regina Education and Action on Community Hunger) is a charitable, non-profit organization committed to supporting independence through accessible, affordable, and nutritious food options and programs in our community. We do this through several programs including the Good Food Box, Family Basket, Frozen Meals, Mobile Stores, and education programming.

We are seeking an energetic, creative, and organized person to be our next Education Coordinator, delivering cooking classes to school age children and overseeing other food education programs.

Responsibilities
Developing lesson plans for cooking classes for children 10 and under.
Scheduling and delivering cooking classes in partnership with schools and community organizations.
Planning and preparation of meals for the Summer Lunch Program.
Staying up to date on information and best practices related to nutrition and cooking skills for youth.
Communicating with external stakeholders such as schools, health professionals, and organizations serving youth, Indigenous peoples, and Newcomers to promote and deliver programs.
Maintaining accurate and complete records of project activities.
Researching potential future education programs.
Supervision of summer staff.

Qualifications
An undergraduate degree in health promotion, nutrition, education, or other relevant field, or a combination of education and experience.
Experience working with youth.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A general understanding of cooking skills, kitchen safety, and other food preparation skills.
Safe Food Handling Certificate and First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
An understanding of issues related to nutrition and food security.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 programs.
Satisfactory criminal record check.
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
