Description

The primary duties of this position are to provide expert, professional services in a broad range of  addiction, mental health and wellness group programming  - including design and implementation of programming related to individual, family and marital support programs; mental wellness promotion, to ensure appropriate community-based activities to support the implementation of prevention and recovery from addictions, mental health programs, group support, life skills and culturally relevant programs; deliver public education and in-service training related to the mental health of children, youth, adults and families; implementation of the NNADAP program, and serve community needs by being part of a multi-sector team of human service professionals.
Support the Mental Wellness Team in planning and implementation of addiction-based programs and supports.Coordinate and facilitate communication and educational awareness materials for wellness team shared community initiatives.Be part of a multi-sector team of human service professionals engaged in collaborative risk-driven intervention and on-going coordinated supportMaintain and safeguard complete and accurate client records stemming from group support and the addiction recovery programming.Follow privacy and information-sharing protocol of the counselling profession, Prepare and follow a yearly effective workplan for the program. Develop and deliver addiction prevention and recovery programming.Provide short term counselling in crisis situations.After Care /Follow Up- provide aftercare support to clients returning from treatment and maintain a link with them. Case management of population with co occurring disorders.Provide public education opportunities at community events, within the school and at regular information workshops.Develop mental health/ addiction promotional materials to deliver to community members, monthly.Participate in practice of trauma informed care .Other duties as assign
