The following will be the job duties that should be performed for the said position:
1. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials (Class 1-A Trucks);
2. Loading and unloading of goods, tarping, and ensuring safety and security of cargo;
3. Plan travel schedules and routes;
4. Receive and relay information to the central dispatcher;
5. Oversee condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment;
6. Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Security, and Safety;
7. Excellent driving record is a must;
8. Routes will include all of western Canada. Nights, weekends, and holidays will be required in order to make timely deliveries to our customers. We will compensate your holidays or breaks according to the dispatch schedule;
9. Record Cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption;
10. Perform Pre-Trip, enroute and post trip inspection and oversee all aspect of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo;
11. May perform emergency roadside repairs, if needed.
12. May drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
