Description

The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division has a career opportunity for a Piping Designer/Technologist to provide design and drafting for SRCs Rare Earth Processing FacilityNorth Americas first fully integrated, commercial, demonstration facility with hydrometallurgy, separation and metal smelting units. Join a growing team that is working to establish a rare earth element (REE) technology hub in Saskatchewan, forming an industry model for future commercial REE initiatives and supply chain development.

Accountabilities
Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop piping system designs based on general engineering information and project documents
Prepare 3D models and drawings including, but not limited to, piping layouts, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), piping details, isometrics and fabrication drawings  
Generate material take off (MTO) reports  
Review designs for accuracy, completeness and compliance with specifications; modify designs as necessary based on feedback from engineers
Coordinate with other disciplines to integrate piping designs into project plans  
Support engineering efforts with design concepts, equipment specifications and procurement activities  
Provide support during the construction phase, including responding to inquiries, reviewing shop drawings and resolving design-related issues

Qualifications
A diploma in mechanical engineering technology or engineering design and drafting technology  
Minimum five years of relevant experience
Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault and Plant 3D is preferred

The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
