Description

The Youth Sports and Recreation Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, organization, development, publicity, and evaluation of recreational programs for participants of all ages. The Youth Sports and Recreation will also perform supervisory, administrative and professional duties in the operation of the recreational facilities. She/he will organize, schedule and supervise volunteers and staff to ensure the timely completion of assigned duties, and to ensure that all work is completed following established safe work practices. He/she must also communicate effectively with the public, and staff.
Job Duties
    Design, present and offer recreation programs to Little Pine First Nation Community Members.
    Hold quarterly recreation personnel team meetings to promote and enhance communication, expectations, and updates.
    Maintain ongoing communication with public and partners (phone/email/fax).
    Assist with annual budgeting processes.
    Manage revenues and expenses in accordance with a budget.
    Apply for operating and project grants.
    Solicit donations and conduct fundraising opportunities as required.
    Budget for programs and events (i.e. registration fee, supplies, instructor fee, promotion, facility rental, etc.).
    Plan seasonal recreation program/event schedules that meet the needs and interests of the demographics.
    Responsible for creating a Sports and Recreation Committee.
    Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate volunteers and program leaders as needed.
    Identify and encourage new local program leaders and volunteers of all ages.
    Prepare or assist in the preparation of the budget requests.
    Maintain inventory on equipment, supplies, and materials and requisitions supplies and materials.
    Conduct and attend meetings regarding safety, orientation, etc.
    Provide a calendar of events (monthly).
    Perform other duties as necessary.
