Description

Location: Service area in the Fort QuAppelle region
Hours of Work: 8am-8pm, working a rotational schedule including two weekends a month                        

Position Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as an In-Home Support Worker. In this role, you will provide essential support and guidance to families referred to us by the Ministry of Social Services. You will work directly with families in their homes to provide a range of services aimed at promoting family well-being, enhancing parenting skills, and addressing challenges related to trauma and resilience. This position will be under the general supervision of the Director of Kinship and Staff Development.

Responsibilities Include:
    Provide parental support to families all care, advocacy, counselling, and listening from a trauma informed care lens;
    Build therapeutic relationships with all caregivers/mothers and children;
    Provide practical support for all aspects of family support, including establishing and maintaining strong family relationships;
    Ensure the well-being of all women and children by supporting strong health practices like food safety, and Canada Food Guide;
    Provide information, education, referrals, and support to the clients as needed;
    Collaborate with Children's Housing and Women's Housing to create individualized plans for each family;
    Provide referrals and advocacy to ensure that residents have necessary support to deal with barriers regarding housing;
    Knowledge of the Child Welfare system, Trauma Informed Care, and Family Violence prevention practices;
    Actively work towards developing a familiarity with Indigenous cultural traditions and engagement with Indigenous people and communities;
