Description

The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies a full range of IT services to government ministries and agencies.

The Citizen-Centric Program Delivery (CCPD) branch is seeking an exceptional individual who is an effective communicator, and cross-team collaborator with strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills for the position of Programmer Analyst. The primary role of the Programmer Analyst is to support and maintain various applications, including taking responsibility for monitoring the system and communicating with the vendors regarding problems to ensure the system is functioning in order to meet business needs. Position diagnoses, isolates, and debugs issue(s) and performs problem resolution, ensures proper documentation of the problem resolution and is responsible for defining, evolving, and enforcing software development standards.

As our successful candidate, will have:

- Completion of a 4 year degree in computer science, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 years experience working as a Programmer Analyst.
- Knowledge is required in technologies such as Unix, PowerBuilder, JAVA, Visual Basic, PL/SQL, Oracle and SQL Server, SharePoint, MS CRM, Windows batch jobs and scheduling and .NET etc.
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies is an asset.
- Develop technical specifications and program procedures for design documents from which code and programs are written.
- Ability to proactively research needs and trends to anticipate and identify potential problems/issues.
- Decision-making skills and possess the ability to take the necessary corrective action when required.
- You will be a results-oriented individual with strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to work with and influence others.
