Description

The Regina Perinatal Health Network (RPHN) is a program of the Regina Early Learning Centre (RELC) and provides services to perinatal families experiencing, or at risk for developing, a Perinatal Mood and/or Anxiety Disorder (PMAD) like Postpartum Depression. RPHN services include prenatal education and coordination of care for those living in Regina and the surrounding area. They assist birthing people in developing a clear pathway to treatment with a strong sense of community surrounding them, help them make informed decisions about their care and build confidence in their ability to parent.

Job Summary:
A Perinatal Health facilitator is a valued member of our RPHN team. Many new parents still lack the information and support they need to maintain their mental health and stigma is still a strong deterrent in accessing support. Our Perinatal Health Facilitators work to create easier access to care and provide safe, non judgmental social support for new families in Regina both virtually and in person. Combination of daytime and evenings hours required, 10-12 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as a first point of contact for families in need of care being able to communicate RPHN/ community services available
Facilitate private non clinical prenatal/ postpartum support sessions by using active listening skills and creating tailored support plans.
-Facilitate weekly postpartum support groups
-Identify educational opportunities throughout our community
-Facilitate ongoing communication and lead discussions in our private RPHN Facebook communities.
-Provide additional support to the lead Perinatal Health Coordinator as needed.

Qualifications:
-Background and knowledge of pregnancy/ childbirth/ perinatal mental health (Bachelor of Social Work and/ Doula/Birth related training is an asset)
-Strong communication skills
-Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
-Strong computer/ social media skills
-Ability to work independently
