General Sandblasting & Painting is looking for a Fleet Manager/Heavy Duty Mechanic with minimum 4 years experience in the areas of heavy & light duty vehicles, material handling equipment, and compressors. This position is for full time, permanent employment.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic, as well as engine overhaul procedures. Compressor system experience with a good understanding of diagnostic procedures is a definite asset.
JOB DUTIES:
Maintain company's vehicle and equipment fleet - records, service schedules, emergency repairs
Responsible for diesel & gas engines, air compressors, generators and small tools & equipment
Check equipment for proper performance, detect faults and malfunctions
Preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
Interpret work orders and technical manuals
Test and adjust equipment, repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
Order material/parts to complete repairs, ensuring repairs remain within budget requirements
Maintain service records of all work done
Skills & Experience:
Due to the importance of this position, being focused and paying attention to the details is a key quality
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic preferred
Minimum class 5 drivers license, with a clean drivers abstract
Class 1 or 3 endorsement considered an asset
Occasional weekends on-call
Successful candidates must be able to meet pre-employment testing requirements
