Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the Manager of Mental Health Services or the Community Mental Health Nurse the primary goal will be to develop and deliver effective day-patient services to communities utilizing a primary health and community development approach.

The Mental Health Therapist will provide Mental Health Services to youth, family and community members of the SHA, i.e. individual and/or family counselling, group counselling, facilitating workshops, seminars and providing crisis intervention.  

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Social Work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Eligibility for registration in corresponding professional association
Valid Drivers License
Experience
The position is required to understand the clinical theory and practice, and have experience in working with the addicted population.  The incumbent is responsible for creating and supporting an environment that facilitates the achievement of client care goals and the personal/professional growth and development of colleagues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to develop clinical pathways, standards of care, and participate in quality assurance activities.
Ability to speak a First Nations or Mtis language is an asset
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Apply ethical and legal principles and cultural sensitivity in clinical practice
