Description

The Library Assistant is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the school library in order to create a positive, welcoming and relevant centre of learning for all members of the school community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High degree of proficiency in database software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
Proven written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrates courtesy and professionalism.
Familiarity with library software is an asset.
Manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.  

Qualifications:
A minimum of one (1) year post-secondary education in a field such as business administration or office administration or an approved Library Clerk certificate.  
A working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications of Excel, Outlook and Word.  
Experience in a library setting would be an asset.

Working Conditions:
As per CUPE Agreement
Monday to Friday; 20 hours per week, exact scheduling to be determined, 10 months per year
Commencing as soon as possible
Salary Range: $21.38 - $25.00 per hour
Some manual labour including regular physical exertion and handling of objects up to 30 pounds (14 kg) on a repeated basis through the day and pushing weight bearing carts
