Facility: BIRCH HILLS HEALTH CENTRE
Job Description: In collaboration with Physicians and the Primary Care Team, the Nurse Practitioner will provide Primary Health Care services to several communities.  This includes: health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention, provision of supportive, instructive, treatment and emergency services; collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals; conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects.



Required Qualifications

Approved school of Nursing, Bachelaureate Degree in Nursing preferred
Certification in recognized Primary Care Nurse Practitioner equivalent program or Nurse Practitioner Master's Program required
Maintain current certification in: Level C, Basic Cardiac Life Support / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) as an RN (NP) or RN (GNP)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
- Three full time years experience as a Registered Nurse
- Two to Three years experience as a Primary Care Nurse or Nurse Practitioner preferred
- Strong communication and public relations skills
- Experience in community needs assessment, community development, and health promotion
- Experience or education in treatment of trauma preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and communication with other health care professionals
Ability to travel both within the region and provincially
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
