Job Description: Under the direction of the Primary Health Care Manager, the Positive Living Program (PLP) Clinician & Clinical Educator leads and implements program orientation, education, evaluation and research for the PLP program. This nurse will divide their time to also provide direct client service including HIV and HCV clinical case management in support of client treatment plans; coordination of the clinical and outreach components of the PLP, client education, etc.
Other more specific responsibilities includes researching, collaborating and developing policies and procedures, maintaining program data bases, performing quality improvement, mentoring staff and serving as a consultant to individuals and groups of health professionals within the region.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support and Level C
Current CPR Certification
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
-Minimum of 5 years experience with HIV or HCV or related experience in the management of sexually transmitted and blood borne infections in a clinical or community setting.
-Minimum of 1 year experience working with clients engaged in high risk health behavior.
-Work experience that demonstrates an ability to lead projects, be innovative and self-directive, handle multiple tasks, supervise or mentor staff, make difficult decisions under pressure.
-Supervisory experience, in a unionized environment, would be an asset.
