Applications are invited for a continuing 1.0 FTE Pre-K Classroom Teacher at Indian Head Elementary School commencing the start of the 2024-25 school year.
Teaching assignment: 0.5 FTE Michif program and 0.5 FTE English program.
The successful candidate will demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
A commitment to creating a program that is a Michif/Mtis culturally responsive learning environment through play and exploration, storytelling, and songs with an increased focus on traditions, customs, and beliefs
Developmentally appropriate play-based instruction with a focus on the intellectual, social- emotional, spiritual, and physical domains
A willingness to engage the Michif/Mtis community including Lii Pleu Vyeu (Elders)
Family engagement
Early literacy and numeracy practices
Using various forms of evidence to support planning and communicating with families
Excellent interpersonal skills and preference for working collaboratively with colleagues
Willingness to learn the Michif language.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor of Education degree and a valid Saskatchewan teacher's certificate (or expected by August 2024).
