SUMMER STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
Between the ages of 15-30 years, 2 Full-Time Term Positions, and 15 Weeks of Employment
The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nation communities in the Athabasca Basin of Northern Saskatchewan. ADEA services four schools; Father Porte Memorial Denesuline School in Black Lake First Nation, Father Gamache Memorial School in Fond Du Lac First Nation, Father Megret Elementary School and Father Megret High School in Hatchet Lake First Nation.
ADEA is seeking a strategic and innovative student who will be starting or returning to their studies, either University or College, in the fall of 2024. The successful candidate will gain experience in all areas at the Education Centre.
POSITION:
Reporting to the Director of Education and manager(s), and the summer student will perform various duties as assigned.
The Summer Student position will gain valuable workplace essential skills required to be successful and will support the operations and information needs of assigned programs by learning and applying appropriate technical and administrative processes. The Summer Students will work cooperatively in a team environment.
The areas that the students will get the chance to work in are Administration, Resource Centre, Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Technology. For those who are interested in a pathway into Education, we would also provide mentorship in Early Learning, Special Education, Student Support Services, and Curriculum and Instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
A Student starting or continuing post-secondary school.
Knowledge of Denesuline language and culture would be an asset.
Excellent time management skills: to be able to prioritize activities, especially when there is a high volume of tasks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative.
