The Shipper-Handling/Auction Cataloguing Worker will split their time 50-50 between the 2 departments and is responsible for the following:
o Pick, pack, seal and label packages and envelopes for shipping, using appropriate shipping supplies
o Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
o May transport and store goods within area of operation
o Maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems
o Organize the shipping office, ensure goods are stored safely and appropriately.
o Ensure shipping supplies and inventory is maintained and work area is kept clean
o Load, unload and move products and materials by hand
o Material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking.
o transportation of goods off of vehicles and loading docks to store/sort/picture and retrieve materials in warehouses
o May perform other activities, such as emptying boxes, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials.
o Ensuring goods are placed safely, securely and in appropriate locations
o Simple data entry of items in warehouse
o Simple photography/staging of auction items in warehouse
o May be cross-trained to assist operations
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
o Other relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications
o Experience in shipping/handling is considered an asset
o Physical strength may be required in instances where larger auction items are brought in or purchased
o Experience in photography is considered an asset
o Experience in material handling is considered an asset
o Experience with computer systems, cameras and data entry is considered an asset
