Description

The First Nation Representative Assistant will work under direction of the FN Representative and/or Director of Prevention and be based out of the Cegakin Prevention Office located in Indian Head Office. The successful candidate will be required to understand and assist the Cegakin First Nation. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. The duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our managers and employees, assisting with daily office needs, and managing administrative duties.
Skills and Abilities:
Assist in building and maintaining meaningful cultural, family, and community connections for CTK children, youth, and families involved with the child and family services system.
Assist reunification of CTK children and youth in care with their family
Supporting CTK children, youth, and families involved/at risk of involvement with the child and family services system outside of their home communities, including those across different regions and jurisdictions.
Supporting CTK youth and young adults with post-majority care
assist in child and family services administrative and court proceedings, as in accessing legal resources to represent the CTK interests in child and family services administrative and court proceedings.
Receiving and responding to notices under provincial, territorial, and federal child and family services law, helping family access prevention supports.
Supporting customary care; kinship care, and alternative care arrangements, arranging alternative dispute resolution (talking circle processes, other Indigenous approaches, monitoring and/or updating agreements with child and family services providers pertaining to individual children, youth, and families.
Certificate/Diploma or higher in a related field such as social work, human justice, law or related fields
