Director, Regulatory Affairs and Licence Management

The Energy Regulation Division (ERD) regulates the lifecycle activities related to the responsible development of Saskatchewan's oil, gas and associated mineral resources.
The Ministry of Energy and Resources is seeking a dynamic, visionary and results-oriented individual who is an analytical and strategic leader for the position of Director, Regulatory, Affairs and Licence Management. Reporting to the Executive Director, Regulatory Affairs and Analytics, this position plays a key role within the ministry to provide leadership, expertise, advice, and direction related to regulatory oversight of the oil and gas and other mineral extractions governed under The Oil and Gas Conservation Act in the province. The position oversees the Regulatory Affairs unit which leads policy, legislative/regulatory development, engagement and organizational support as well as the Licence Management unit responsible for oversight of well-licencing activities.
Typically, the knowledge, skills and experience required to be successful in this position would have been obtained through:
- Completion of a post-graduate degree in public administration, business administration, engineering, economics or a related field of study, or equivalent experience;
- Extensive management experience with proven success leading a high-performing team; and,
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan resources industry (especially oil, gas, potash, helium, and carbon storage) would be an asset.
