Description

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Develop, organize, lead, evaluate and promote interest in community-based recreational activities such as; arts, crafts, sports, games, camping, cultural programs and hobbies for all age groups after school, evenings & weekends;
Work with students, their families, and community members;
Report to and work with steering committee(s);
Recruit, coordinate, and recognize volunteers;
Organize and implement monthly gym events schedule;
Be present on location during events;
Establish, partner and maintain partnerships with other community recreation organizations and programs;
Ensure sports and recreation facilities are safe for public use;
Make requests for new equipment, supplies, and/or services as needed;
Maintain positive public relations, on behalf of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band;
Enforce rules and regulations of recreation facilities, in order to maintain discipline and ensure safety.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
2 year Diploma in Recreation and Community Development, Recreation and Sports Management, Sports Administration or similar;
1-2 years experience in the Sports and Recreation field is preferred;
Coaching certificate is an asset;
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required;
Must be able to work with minimal supervision;
Program planning experience;
Strong organizational & time management skills;
Strong communication, interpersonal and public relations skills;
Good budgeting and financial management skills;
Must have strong reading, writing, and communication skills;
Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively;
Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate;
Must have a Valid Class 5 Drivers License;
Must have a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check, and COVID-19 Vaccination Passport;
