Job Description: The Mental Health & Addictions Services (MHAS) Manager is an integral figure in the Saskatchewan Health Network Framework. The Manager has a lead role in ensuring that all residents of Saskatchewan have access to mental health service closest to home. The Manager must work across a wide geographic area and among a wide range of stakeholders and clinical settings. The Manager has responsibility for the quality of mental health services delivered in Saskatchewan. This includes the clinical supervision of mental health and addictions professionals while enhancing the capacity of allied community and health partners within the network framework. The Manager will develop collaborative partnerships with managers, physicians and care providers across the full continuum of care.

Contacts include:
Inpatient MHAS, Community MHAS, Primary Health Care Networks, Community Based Organizations, Regional Police Service, Ministries of Social Services, Justice as well as internal/external stakeholders and staff at all levels of the organization.

Committee work includes:
-Sit on multi-agency committees and participate in partnerships that require specific MHAS representation by decision makers (i.e. Violent Threat Risk Assessment, HUB, Maternal MMH)
-Cross functional committees with community services at the regional and Integrated Service Area levels

Major Challenges includes:
-Managing team resources and standardizing work processes to meet high volumes/demand while maintaining a quality service based in evidence based practice
-Ensuring outcome evaluation processes and a continuous improvement approach while providing safe, comprehensive care
-Development and implementation of a new community program and model of care while dealing with the perceived resistance to change
