Description

CanPro Farms Ltd. operate a feed ingredients business. It has been in operation for over 50 years in north-eastern Saskatchewan, in the heart of a very productive farming community. CanPro produces both conventional and organically certified products.

CanPro is seeking a Plant Maintenance Worker to ensure the smooth operations of its pelleting plant. This is a seasonal position from approximately June to November of each year.

The Plant Maintenance Workers duties and responsibilities include:
Perform required greasing and general maintenance on belts, trunnions, etc.
Change and turn screens, replace hammers as required
Perform checks on drivers, oil levels, etc.
Check, fix and maintain shop equipment including power cords, chains, hoists, slings, safety harnesses
Take part in major repairs, overhauls, installations, fabrication
Perform daily water conditioning tests
Ensure that the salt is added to the plants water softener, as required
Ensure bins and flat storage are inspected and maintained prior to close and filling
Maintain a bin aeration schedule
Record and submit all maintenance records and logbooks to appropriate senior personnel
Monitor and record daily product temperatures
Perform, or assist in cleanup of control room, pellet process room, electrical room, boiler room, scale room, etc.
Ensure a high standard of maximum production is all areas of the pellet plant production
Other general tasks as assigned

Requirements:
Knowledge of, and mechanical aptitude for the repair and maintenance of all major components and machinery used in plant operations
Knowledgeable in the operation of a high-pressure boiler, pressure vessel and steam
Competent in Arc and Acetylene welding
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
