Description

This is a part-time position where employees working at city library branches provide library services directly to the public and perform a variety of tasks to support that activity. They report to the Branch Manager or designate. The emphasis of this position is serving the public in person, on the telephone or via other electronic means. Employees of this class operate a wide range of office and computer equipment including devices found in automated library environments, and assist the public in the use of this equipment. They will also assist in the delivery of library programs.  They interact with the public, make independent judgments and display initiative.  They are expected to refer unusual or difficult problems to their supervisor or designate.
