Description

This successful candidate will be the main support staff for our Lead Hand at the tree nursery and shelterbelt planting. They will report to the Food Security and Climate Change Manager.  This position is mainly outdoors or in the greenhouse.

Primary Duties:

    Follow a work-plan as determined by the Food Security &
        Climate Change Manager and 2B tree Lead Hand;
    Germinate & Harvesting seedlings;                             
    Mixing organic fertilizer;                             
    Tree Seed collection and storage;                             
    Culling, Weeding & Watering;                            
    Assist in the maintenance required in the greenhouse and for
        tree plantings;    
    Follow work schedules, fill in time-sheets;
    Help control insect, disease and weed problems;                 
    Help with record keeping, filling in work forms;     
    Handling materials and tree stock;                            
    Take cuttings of trees to grow into new trees
    Grounds and landscape maintenance
