Description

Lovering Place Program Indigenous Cultural Liaison works under the direct supervision of the Lovering Place Program Manager and the overall direction of the Director of Operations.  The Indigenous Cultural Liaison position is an integral part of a team-based approach in the provision of support services, integration of Indigenous knowledge and approaches, advocacy, and system navigation to those individuals who access supports through Phoenix Residential Society.  The Indigenous Cultural Liaison works out of the Lovering Place Program, but is a resource for all programs through Phoenix Residential Society.  
Experience and training in the human services field  (Social Work, Human Justice, Psychiatric Nursing, Chemical Dependency)
Demonstrate a strong understanding of, and experience working with, Indigenous peoples and the historical trauma affecting them.
Must possess a strong understanding of local Indigenous issues; be culturally competent and able to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous people.
Must possess an understanding of systems, supports, and community resources for the successful delivery of services for persons with complex issues including income supports, life skills support, health, mental health, and addictions services.
