MGBHLM First Nation is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to assist in the management of the Traditional Health Gathering that MGBHLM First Nation will be hosting, August 19 - 23, 2024. The successful candidate will be on a contract basis, working independently with minimal direct supervision. The individual will ensure that open lines of communication are maintained with all stakeholders, proper documentation is followed, and reporting is carried when the event has finished.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possess and convey sound knowledge relating to the coordination and management of a Traditional Health Gathering and similar events;
Develop a comprehensive project plan outlining timelines, tasks, and milestones;
Coordinate with stakeholders to define the objectives and goals of the Traditional Health Gathering.
Prepare briefing notes and or other appropriate documentation for the Executive Director and/or staff for meetings with Government officials, Tribal Councils, other stakeholders, etc.;
Regularly update the Executive Director of the Health and Social Development Secretariat (HSDS) and the Executive Director of Life Promotions.
Maintain effective liaison with other FSIN Secretariats, First Nation governments, Tribal Councils, and other levels of Government.
Work closely with the management team to ensure awareness of the developments and initiatives within the Secretariat and carry out special duties as assigned;
Distribution of information as requested by individuals.
Coordinate meetings and develop draft agendas, including the preparation of supporting/relevant information for meetings;
Book meeting/hotel rooms and audio visual equipment when required;
Provide confidential administrative services and perform standardized administrative duties in accordance with established policies, procedures and schedules;
Assemble a team of volunteers or staff to support various aspects of the event;
