Description

Prince Albert Outreach Program Inc, is seeking an Addiction Counsellor worker. The successful candidate will work with our Outreach team and will focus on meeting the youth where they are at, and better understand the motivation behind their challenges and to modify the triggers to reduce the impact of their behavior.
This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to accurately assess addictions and make appropriate recovery plans
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
Ability to demonstrate knowledge in addictions and their effects on the family unit
Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related issues and make appropriate referrals.
Ability to work independently to plan and organize work load demands.

Required Qualifications

Valid Class 5 driver's license
Addictions Certificate/Diploma
Chemical Dependency diploma
Understanding of Mental Health & Addictions Programs is an asset
