Description

Speech & Language Pathologist  Permanent, Part-Time (0.80 FTE), schedule to be determined, commencing at the start of the 2024-25 school year. This position would mainly serve our schools in the North (Spiritwood, Leoville, Medstead).

Join our dynamic team of experienced SLPs located at the Living Sky School Division centrally located in beautiful Saskatchewan. The SLP team offers flexible caseload management with ongoing and frequent collaboration. Supervision and mentorship opportunities are available for new grads for CSASK and ASHA. We strive to create a team environment that is energetic and welcoming.

The successful candidate will be able to:

Perform diagnostic assessments of students to evaluate strengths, weaknesses and areas for intervention to treat individual students communication disorders (speech, language, phonological awareness)
Understand and support the Response to Intervention (RTI) Model
Develop a treatment plan based on evidence-based practice
Maintain records on the evaluation, progress, and discharge of students
Recommend suitable materials to schools and parents
Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., occupational therapist, educational psychologist, audiologist, ASD team, etc.)
Consult with teachers to support assessment findings and assist with individual program planning
Advocate on behalf of students with communication disorders and populations that are at risk
Practice within CSASK Professional Code of Ethics
Applicants must possess a masters degree in Speech & Language Pathology and be eligible for membership in CSASK. Experience working with children and youth in an educational setting would be an asset, as well as an aptitude towards working with assistive technology. This position involves travel to schools within the school division and a valid drivers license and dependable vehicle is required.
