United for Literacy is a national, non-profit literacy organization. We believe literacy is a right, and we work inclusively with volunteers and community partners to help children, youth and adults build skills and confidence.
The Program Assistant will report to the Community Coordinator and work closely with other regional staff on all Summer Literacy Camps being delivered throughout Saskatchewan and Reading Tents being delivered throughout Saskatoon.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for camp staff recruitment and hiring process by checking references, managing paperwork, criminal record checks etc.
Provide ongoing support to the Community Coordinator in the building of strong relationships with camp communities, camp teams, reading tent staff, and delivery of literacy camp /reading tents.
Assist with coordinating and implementing all logistics related to summer literacy camps including travel, training, housing, materials, shipping, etc.
Assist with data collection and entry during and after camp/reading tents, as well as processing timesheets, weekly reports, and other camp/reading tent related materials.
Provide general office administrative support including phone, mail, supplies and filing systems.
