Duties and responsibilities:
The Accessible Parking Program issues more than 20,000 parking permits each year to individuals with mobility challenges. We are looking for an organized, positive, and motivated individual to be responsible for administrative functions of the program including customer service, mail processing, data entry and filing.
Duties include:
- Processing Accessible Parking Program applications and renewals (in person or by mail) by reviewing application information; confirming client eligibility based on established program criteria; following up with clients or health care professionals if additional information is required; processing payments; issuing permits/receipts; and, advising clients when eligibility has not been met and the application is denied.
- Completing required documentation associated with applications including accurately entering the information into a database program.
- Responding to phone and in person enquiries about the Accessible Parking Program from clients, caregivers, health professionals, and enforcement officials.
- Maintaining the filing system and appropriate storage of documentation.
- Assisting with permit renewals including generating reminder notifications and mailing letters to meet renewal deadlines.
- Assisting with deposits, cash sales reports and other program reporting functions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Business College Certificate/Diploma (1 Year)
Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills and experience resolving difficult situations
- Excellent keyboarding skills and attention to detail
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and maturity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
